Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range
of activities as part of their programme. "Participation" rather
than meeting set standards is the key approach and for the Scout who
wants to be recognised for his or her achievements there are a
number of Challenges Awards and Activity
Badges. Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them
to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to
know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps
develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to
explore their own values and personal attitudes. One of the best
places to do that is at
Delamere Forest where all the activities are well laid out and
safety is paramount at all times using qualified instruction.
Being outdoors is important and half the Programme is given over to
taking part in both the traditional Scouting skills, such as
camping, survival and cooking as well as the wide range of
adventurous activities,
anything from abseiling to yachting.
The international aspect gives Scouting
a special appeal and many Scouts now travel abroad during their time
in the Section. Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a
team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of
making long lasting friendships.
Many times Troops ; Groups from different areas join
up for Jamborees and Troop Camps and this
also is another great way of both the youngsters and the Adults and
Leaders making new friends and acquaintances leaving memories that
will last forever.

Here you see our Beavers and
Cub Scouts on their day out to
Delamere Forest where they looked at the different trees flowers
endangered species and leaned to make shelters using the fallen
branches and leaves and many other skills which one day you never
know they may need !.
However at the end of all this Fun and I do have to say Fun there
is usually another badge to sew on their tops to display proudly
when they are on parade or at some sort of official function.
Below you will see more images of the scouts and cubs and beavers
having fun days out and earning badges but please if you would like
to see more of our lovely photo memories please click here to view
them all and see the happy smiling faces which come at no extra
charge.
